Our Focus

Keeping athletes safe is Reflector’s mission. 

Most runners have had the experience of running near a car that gets too close. We stopped, swerved, and hoped we could get out of the way in time. Even though we thought we were visible, the driver did not see us because we were wearing dark clothing with little to no reflectivity. 

Reflector knows that runners need to get outside whenever they can. Often this is early in the morning or after work. Athletes should be able to feel safe any time they step out the door. One way to make running in low light or dark conditions a little safer is to wear brightly colored, reflective clothing. 

That is where Reflector steps in. We are here to improve the visibility of athletes who train in low light or dark conditions by offering clothing with extra reflectivity and style.

Formation

When I was working in my brother’s restaurant, I was also training for an autumn half-marathon with my wife. I would frequently arrive home after sunset, and we would go for a training run. Although we both owned quite a bit of athletic clothing, most of it was darkly colored with little to no reflective element.

I shopped around and noticed there were limited available options of performance wear with enough safety reflective material to increase visibility.

I chose to fill the void by creating apparel for athletes who work out in low light and dark conditions. After trying different techniques, paging through endless catalogs, and hours upon hours of trial and error, Reflector was born.
